Senigallia is a busy and vibrant town all year round.
The Roman origins and the Renaissance period have marked the current aspect of the old town centre. The Roman traces can be admired in the archeological area, the Renaissance architecture in piazza del Duca. It is then in this wonderful part of the old town centre, close to the sea, where the massive Rocca Roveresca, the Palazzo del Duca and the Palazzetto Baviera are found, all works that bear witness to the affiliation of Senigallia to the Duchy of Urbino. Just a short distance and we find the Portici Ercolani and the Foro Annonario wich tell us how the urban development of Senigallia took place in the second half of the 18th century up to the thirties in the 19th century.
Senigallia is also the hometowon of Mario Giacomelli, one of the greatest masters of photography in the 20th century. At Musinf -Museum of Modern Arts, information and photography, there are some of his most famous pictures. La Rotonda a mare, has been the symbol of Senigallia as a resort since 1933, the year of its opening. During the summer season it was the elegant meeting place for elite visitors. In July 2006 it was restored to all its original glory
